London, Ontario native Drew Doughty may have Canadian listed on his birth certificate, but he’s certainly not making many friends north of the border these days.

The Los Angeles Kings former Norris Trophy-winning defenceman has been in the news a lot during the Kings’ Western Canada road trip. After losing their season opener to the Edmonton Oilers, Doughty drove the drama bus into Calgary as he reignited his storied rivalry with Flames agitator Matthew Tkachuk.

In an entertaining game between the two, Doughty got the last laugh. After Tkachuk buried the game-tying goal right in front of Doughty, the fiery defender clapped home the OT winner.

It's safe to say Doughty loves playing the villain, and it hasn’t taken him long to become one in a neighbouring hockey city. After losing 8-2 to the Vancouver Canucks, Doughty didn’t pull punches or give much credit to the British Columbian team.

Spicy. Needless to say, Doughty can be expecting some louder boos next time he’s in western Canada. As it turns out, that’s maybe what he’s going for.
