Charles Barkley tends to end up as the butt of most jokes whenever he’s on television working with his NBA on TNT crew, so things didn’t change during Monday night’s NBA Awards show.

At one during the event, Barkley was joined on stage by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and went around the room thanking some of the pioneers of the game who turned it into what it is today. One NBA legend who got a shout-out from Barkley was Bill Russell, who had one of the greatest reactions that’s ever been caught on television.

After the shout-out, Russell was quick to respond by flipping Chuck his middle finger, which was seen by everyone in attendance and everyone watching at home.

Russell’s response to Barkley got a lot of laughs out of the crowd in attendance and the 11-time NBA champion even made himself crack up as he seemed to think he wasn’t going to be shown on television.

It appeared to be all fun and games and it was one that everyone got a kick out of.
