The Boston Bruins have been the hottest team in the NHL over the past month and a half.

Since the start of January, the Bruins own a record of 13-2-2 and sit just three points back of first place in the Atlantic Division heading into Tuesday night’s action.

Since the Bruins didn’t have a game on Monday night and are preparing to depart for a lengthy five-game road trip, sophomore Frank Vatrano and rookie Charlie McAvoy paid a visit to the Massachusetts General Hospital on Monday afternoon where they had some Valentine’s Day fun with the patients.

The Bruins youngsters traded in their hockey sticks for paint brushes on Monday and showed off their creative sides as they created some homemade Valentine’s Day cards with the patients.

The duo also posed for photos, signed plenty of autographs, and left the patients with some brand new Bruins-themed gifts.

"It really means a lot seeing their reaction when we see them," Vatrano told Mark Garbino of BostonBruins.com. "I love doing these kinds of things; I know Charlie does, too."
