The Vancouver Canucks are celebrating their 50th NHL season so they’re trying to make a year to remember, in a positive way.

They kicked things off at their home opener by introducing Bo Horvat as the 14th captain in club history and they did so by bringing out some of the greatest players to ever wear a Canucks jersey.

Another way they’re celebrating their 50th season is by bringing back some fan favourite throwback jerseys, including their black, orange and gold skate design. As a result of their alternate uniforms, goalie Jacob Markstrom decided he needed a new mask to match the old school jersey.

The mask was designed by famous mask artist David Gunnarsson and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It looks like Markstrom also got some special equipment created to match the throwback look, and even Thatcher Demko went ahead and got some new gear inspired by the old school threads.

Demko & Markstrom with some fresssssssh #Canucks gear today. 🖤❤️💛
