While the NHL general managers were busy focusing on their roster leading up to the deadline, it was another routine day for most of the players. Except for Sidney Crosby and some members of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Crosby, alongside Carl Hagelin, Jake Guentzel, Riley Sheahan, Chad Ruhwedel and Tristan Jarry, took to the ice to surprise 100 kids in the Little Penguins youth hockey program and took part in their practice with them.

Not only were the kids surprised by the Penguins players at their practice for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but they were also sent home with brand new equipment.

Little Penguins is currently in its 10th year and it’s a youth hockey program for kids aged 4-9 which sets up nearly 2,000 children per year with complimentary hockey equipment, and it’s provided nearly 10,000 children with equipment since its inception.
