We’ve seen a lot of sports franchises and athletes step up in many different ways since the tragic accident that occurred Friday evening on a Saskatchewan highway involving the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Humboldt Broncos. From far and wide across North America, hockey fans have come together to show their support for the small Saskatchewan community and now the support is coming from overseas.

The Esbjerg Energy and the Aalborg Pirates wrapped up a grueling six-game series in the Metal Ligaen, the premier league in Danish ice hockey, and following the game the two sides came together and lined up around the circle at centre ice and held a moment of silence for the victims and the people affected by the tragic accident.

People from far and wide are trying to help out the community anyway they can and small gestures like this one go a very long way.
