Toronto Raptors fans were shocked when they heard the news that DeMar DeRozan was on his way to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard. After all, DeRozan was the first player to truly stand up and put the team on his back and was someone who genuinely wanted to be in Toronto, so when the news broke there were a lot of mixed reactions.

The Spurs’ guard recently sat down with ESPN’s Cari Champion and mentioned that he’s got nothing but love for his former teammates and is happy watching them succeed.

It’s nice to see that DeRozan is still supporting his former teammates on their current run, even though his time in Toronto did not end the way he ever would have imagined.

DeMar #DeRozan still has the backs of his old #Raptors buddies 👏
