The Boston Red Sox dominated from beginning to end as they earned a franchise-high 108 wins this season and went on to win their ninth World Series in franchise history.

Throughout the playoffs, the Red Sox cruised by their opponents as they didn’t lose more than one game in each of their three series and posted a 11-3 record to cap off their historic season. While it didn’t work out for the LA Dodgers for the second straight season, the franchise wasn’t sour about their back-to-back World Series defeats as they sent the BoSox home with some special gifts.

Although the Dodgers had to watch another team become world champions on their home turf, that didn’t stop them from handing over home plate and the pitching rubber from their series clinching victory in Game 5 and also took out a full page ad in the Boston Globe on Wednesday to congratulate the team.

According to Boston Globe’s Nate Weitzer, Los Angeles Dodgers executive vice president and chief marketing officer wanted to give the team something to remember the victory by, considering they have some friends in the organization.

“This was a great World Series and the Red Sox are a class organization,” said Rosen. “We have friends over there with [Red Sox president] Sam Kennedy and [chairman] Tom Werner, so we wanted to give them something of value as a token of respect and professional admiration.”

Very classy move by the Dodgers organization, especially after losing in the World Series for the second straight year.
