Maybe you’re the type to get a little out of hand when setting up friendly wagers with your buddies over the NBA Finals or events like that, but we promise you, Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal just raised the bar.

Wade, the 2006 Finals MVP, and Shaq, a three-time Finals MVP from 2000 to 2002, have agreed to wager a Finals MVP trophy each on the outcome of this year’s Finals, with Wade taking the Miami Heat (obviously) and Shaq taking the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ironically, Shaq has played for and won titles with both teams, including on the 2006 Heat with Wade. Considering that Shaq has three Finals MVP trophies compared to Wade’s one, this bet seems to be a little more significant to Wade if he loses, but you know that he’s ride-or-die with the Heat regardless.

One of Wade’s best buddies, LeBron James, has a chance to win a title here, so it’s a bit of a win-win for him in that sense, but yeah, he’s sticking with the Heat.
