The Las Vegas 51s made a few changes this past offseason as they signed a deal with the Oakland A’s to become their new affiliate, they moved to a new ballpark and also rebranded themselves to the Las Vegas Aviators. While there were plenty of changes there were also plenty of things that stayed the same.

One thing that stayed the same during all those changes is the fact that they still have Finn the bat dog on their roster. On Tuesday night, the chocolate Labrador went out onto the field to retrieve a bat, like he always does, but was unable to get the job done as easily as he would have liked thanks in part to home-plate umpire Tom Woodring.

Perhaps Woodring forgot that Finn was coming out to do his job or maybe he just wanted the bat out of the way. Either way he ended up feeling the heat from the fans as they showered him with boos.

The Aviators ended up rallying behind Finn and picked up a big 10-2 victory.
