Giannis Antetokounmpo is on top of the basketball world after leading the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title. While his super-max extension with the Bucks is looking pretty darn good right now, he’s not letting the massive paycheck or the golden shimmer of Larry OB cloud his very stubborn convictions.
Giannis wanted to watch Team USA basketball take on the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Tokyo summer Olympics, but unfortunately that was not an option. A little too much money, according to the millionaire.
We can’t imagine the subscription fee, which we believe to be $9.99, would be outside of Giannis’ budget, so it leads us to believe this must be an issue of principle. It’s not uncommon among sports fans, many of whom resort to illegal streams or shared passwords to save a few bucks.
It’s also possible Giannis is simply in it for the jokes. That certainly wouldn’t be a first.
