The Dallas Stars got off to a brutal start this season as they managed to win just one of their first nine games. However, as of late they’ve been one of the hotter teams in the league as they’ve won seven of their past nine games and are now 8-8-2 through 18 games.

While it might seem like things are good again in Stars nation, there are still some things about the team that’s stressing out the fan base. Two of those things are the production from Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. While Seguin is currently tied for the team lead in points, he only has three goals and 11 points through 18 games, and Benn has just one goal and six points.

Following their loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday night, both Benn and Seguin were called out by head coach Jim Montgomery, who said he’s “very disappointed” in his top scorers' play so far this season and hasn’t seen any signs of progress.

Although Montgomery later apologized to his two highest paid skaters, Benn and Seguin didn’t have a problem with getting called out – as it’s not the first time – and on Tuesday they weighed in on the entire thing and seemed to agree with their coach.

The star players are any team are always under a microscope, especially when they aren’t performing well, but Montgomery was only speaking the truth and his players understand that. Now we’ll just have to wait and see if it sparks something inside them and they turn things around on the scoresheet.
