The Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Nashville Predators on Thursday night and it was a special event for a former member of both teams as the night was dedicated to Scott Hartnell.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native recently announced his retirement after playing 17 seasons in the NHL, so the Flyers made sure to make the night all about him. From dropping the puck for the ceremonial face-off to joining the broadcast booth throughout the night, there were a lot of special things in store for Hartnell on his big night.

The best part of the night came on the jumbotron, as current Flyers and Hartnell’s former teammates congratulated him on his retirement, including Jaromir Jagr.

Jagr and Hartnell were only teammates for the 2011-12 season, but they seemed to grow a special bond during that season. Not only did Jagr congratulate Hartnell on his retirement, but it also seemed like he was recruiting him to join him over in Czech Republic with his friendly jab.
