Earlier this month, the San Jose Sharks tabbed Winnipeg as the worst road city to play in in the NHL.  Some of the reasons for making such a claim were a bit out there, but some were understandable, like it being very cold in Winnipeg.

Jets head coach Paul Maurice was asked about the complaints and he had some strong words for the players complaining about having to play in Winnipeg.

Tuesday night, the tables were turned as the Jets were in San Jose to take on the Sharks.  Rather than chirping the city of San Jose, though, Jets players took the high road when asked playing in San Jose, as per The Mercury News:

“In great for us,” Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers said. “We’re in minus-30 weather. Even though it isn’t super hot here (in San Jose) right now, it’s still nice to get away from that cold for a little bit.”

“Anytime we come down to California and get a little natural vitamin D in us, we enjoy it,” center Matt Hendricks said.

“You typically get a pretty good signal on your cell phones,” Wheeler joked.

Players could have taken the opportunity to take a couple of shots at San Jose, but they saved their shots for the game, which they ended up winning 5-4 in overtime.

Ehlers won't be able to enjoy the sun too much longer as the Jets are home for 10-straight games after they finish their road trip in Anaheim.
