Larry Walker is a 7-time Gold Glove Award winner, a 5-time MLB All-Star, an NL MVP, and soon-to-be Baseball Hall of Famer, but this weekend he’ll add something new to his already-impressive resume.

The Colorado Avalanche will host the Vegas Golden Knights this upcoming Sunday and the Maple Ridge, BC native will be officially listed as the Avs’ emergency goalie for the contest.

🇨🇦 Larry Walker is going to serve as the #Avalanche’s emergency goalie on Sunday. 👀

The Avalanche are going to honour Walker with a special gift prior to the opening faceoff as a way to celebrate his soon-to-be induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and listing him as their emergency goalie is just part of their gift to him.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that we’ll actually get to see Walker in an Avalanche jersey or in goalie equipment, but we’ve seen it happen before in the past and it can certainly happen again, so there’s always a chance he might actually get into the game.
