So, not a bad start to Lewis Ward’s CFL career, right?

Since his debut last season, the Redblacks kicker missed one field goal in his very first game, and that would be his only miss up until Saturday’s loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. During the interim? A CFL record 69 made field goals (nice), and within range of doubling the previous record held by Rene Paredes with 39 straight makes.

Not only did Ward blow Paredes’ CFL record out of the water, but he also passed the pro football record held by Adam Vinatieri of 45 consecutive field goals a while back as well. We’re not sure who else can even sniff 69 straight makes.

We look forward to Lewis Ward beginning a new and even longer streak in Week 11 against the Roughriders.
