The 2017-18 NHL season is quickly approaching and hockey fans couldn’t be happier.

Two new arenas will open up next season, one being the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and the other being the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. With the Red Wings set to play in a new arena for the first time since 1979, you can bet it’s going to be a very different experience for just about every fan.

However, the team has been teasing the inside of their new home over the past few weeks and it already looks pretty impressive. On Friday, they shared photos of the artwork that’s going to be featured on the outside of the building and they’re incredible murals of Detroit icons.

Known as The Spirit Murals, the artwork is located on the north side of the arena and were done by Detroit-based artist Don Kilpatrick III. The Detroit icons included in the murals are Gordie Howe, Isiah Thomas, Eminem, Aretha Franklin and Joe Louis.

The Spirit Murals are very well done and are a nice touch to the new arena. Everyone who takes a trip to the Little Caesars Arena will certainly enjoy seeing those on their way in.
