One week ago, 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, lost their lives after a former student opened fire in the building.

In honour of the victims, their friends and families, and everyone who was affected by the tragedy, the Panthers added ‘MSD’ patches to their jerseys, while the Panthers and teams around the league added ‘MSD Strong’ decals to their helmets.

On Tuesday night the Panthers were in Toronto for a date with the Maple Leafs, but before the action got underway the two teams stood for a moment of silence ahead of puck drop.

Tuesday night’s game in Toronto was the Panthers’ final game on their five-game Canadian road trip, and it wasn’t the only city that held a moment of silence for the victims.

The Panthers will be back at home on Wednesday night when they host the Washington Capitals. Considering it’s going to be the team’s first home game since the tragedy, you can bet it’s going to be an emotional night at the rink.
