Everyone around the NBA knows by now that Kyle Lowry’s got the best player introduction in the business. In case you’re not familiar with it, here’s one of the many versions of it.
The current longest serving member of the team gets the recognition he deserves from the rest of his teammates whenever they announce his name ahead of a game as they gather around and hype him up during the introduction, but if you’re a new player in town you might not be aware of this pre-game routine. Earlier this week Marc Gasol made his Toronto Raptors home debut and he found out at the very last second about his new teammates’ routine.
Raptors fans didn’t hold it against Gasol, though, as they still welcomed him with open arms and a standing ovation the first time he checked into the game.
On Wednesday night, Gasol made sure not to make the same mistake on his new home court and he even game the newest Raptor Jeremy Lin a heads up, as well.
Glad to see everyone’s officially on the same page.
