It’s become fairly common that NHL players harness their capability of making a kid’s dream come true by hooking them up with a stick. It’s become so common that kids have started working it down to a craft, where they sit in a spot they’re likely to be noticed and make a sign asking if it’s possible. Then the NHL player responds, often bringing the youngster to tears.

On Wednesday, Pavel Buchnevich of the New York Rangers spotted one of his old KHL jerseys in the audience. It was surely a touching moment for Buchnevich, as he probably rarely sees his Rangers jerseys worn by fans very much let alone a jersey from his native Russia. He decided to return the touching moment back to the young fan, and the kid couldn’t keep it together as a result.

Here’s another angle of the moment.

This is what hockey is all about – the moments. Just ask Bryan Berard’s nephew Brody.
