Hockey tape is so subjective.
It's really one of the few parts of your get-up that can make you stand out on the ice, at least looks-wise. Most players like to keep things pretty simple, but others... well... like to shake it up a bit. So this raises the question: what is the best hockey tape when it comes to colour and design? We know most of you use strictly black or white but that doesn't mean it's the best one you can use... or does it?!
So, on with it already.
OUT OF THE RUNNING: NEON GREEN TAPE
Let's get something straight: neon green tape is absolutely dust and should never be used. It's tough on the eyes and is straight UGLY. So take a hike green tape, you're done buddy.
Okay, now on to our rankings
7) BLUE TAPE
Blue tape isn't the most ideal choice but if you feel like shaking things up a bit then this is a subtle way to go about it. You don't have to worry about designs or flashiness, a royal blue tape is a nice change once in a while. But it's not to write home about if we're being honest.
6) PINK TAPE
I back pink tape. It's a little bright but often used to support breast cancer awareness and that's just awesome. You won't find too many players using it but it always stands out on the ice, that's for sure.
5) SUPERHERO TAPE
If you think you're too cool for superhero tape well, you're wrong. Throw a little Batman or Superman tape on your blade and you'll have your opponents will be left shivering in their hockey pants. Don't sleep on this kind of tape... it's awesome.
4) WHITE TAPE
White tape finally cracks the list but it's probably a little sooner than you expected. White tape is just so... meh. It gets dirty easily and you need to change it up every game if you want your blade looking fresh. It also just blends in the ice and is kind of boring, Add a little more flavour to your game, don't be bland.
3) SKULL TAPE
Yes, that's right. Skull tape ahead of white tape. Few things are more intimidating than skull tape on the ice. You think I'm joking, eh? Jokes on all of you this stuff is what dreams are made of.
2) BLACK TAPE
Black tape is just so much cooler than white tape. And almost all the other tapes for that matter. It's classy yet sharp at the same time. If you use black tape, I'll buy you a slush puppy after any game of the week pal. But there's one that tops the rest...
1) FLAME TAPE
OH YEAH!!!! The best tape there is, and not used nearly enough. It's like having a Hot Wheels car, but on the blade of your stick... while you're on the ice!!!! That's gnarly folks, gnarly. Don't @ me.
