Team USA clinched a spot in this year’s gold medal game at the World Juniors after defeating Russia 2-1 on Friday night, but the Russians had multiple glorious chances to tie the game in the final frame of action.

Like they’ve done after every game in the tournament, the three best players of the game from each team are called up to centre ice where they receive a watch and pose for a photo once everything is all said and done. Well, Russian captain and St. Louis Blues prospect Klim Kostin wanted no part of the mini postgame ceremony and did not hide it one bit.

Clearly upset about his team’s loss, the 19-year-old tossed his helmet to the side, quickly gave away his new watch to someone on the bench behind the cameras, and stood still for a brief second while looking away from the camera before he skated back to the blue line to rejoin his teammates. It’s not as bad or memorable as throwing a silver medal into the stands, but it’s definitely a moment the Blues prospect will have a tough time living down.
