There were a lot of blowouts in this year’s World Junior Championship, but there were also a lot of good games as well. The best game of the tournament was easily the final one as Team Canada and Team Sweden went back and forth all night long as they competed for the gold medal.

No one ever goes into a game hoping to win the silver medal, but everyone can’t go home a winner.

As Team Sweden attempted to deal with the heartbreaking loss to Team Canada, they also had to make their way to centre ice to collect their silver medal but New York Rangers prospect Lias Andersson wanted nothing to do with it.

Instead of going back home to Sweden with Andersson, the silver medal is now going back home with that random fan in the stands who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

We understand that no one wants to go home with a silver medal, but it’s still something to be proud of considering not many people can say they’ve won a medal in an international tournament.
