Aaron Dell surprised a lot of people last season when he made the San Jose Sharks’ opening day roster, but his performance throughout the year showed why he earned the spot.

In his first 20 NHL games, the 28-year-old Airdrie, Alberta native posted a record of 11-6-1 with one shutout, a 2.00 goals against average and a .931 save percentage. It turns out he didn’t just impress Sharks fans, but he also impressed the people in charge of rating players for EA Sports’ NHL 18.

The University of North Dakota’s all-time wins leader got a massive bump in his player rating this year as he entered his rookie campaign with a 73 overall rating.

Not bad for a guy who wasn't even drafted.

Got my NHL18 ranking today. What do you think?
