A lot of teams are reportedly unimpressed with the Toronto Blue Jays’ return for Marcus Stroman.

To refresh your memory, the Jays sent Stroman packing to the Mets in exchange for left-handed pitcher Anthony Kay and right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson. The transaction has primarily been viewed as a win for the Mets and has left other sellers around the league ticked off. According to SNY’s Andy Martino, teams looking to sell pitchers ahead of the deadline are “very annoyed at the Blue Jays’ return in Stroman.” One rival went as far as calling the trade “dogs*it” and there is now a fear that the price for a pitcher has significantly dropped.

... thoughts? 🤔😳

Despite owning a 6-11 record, Stroman has had a relatively strong season with the Jays. The right-hander owned an impressive 2.96 record through 21 totals games with a Jays team 26 games below .500 (41-67). Kay and Richardson, on the other hand, are not considered  top 100 prospects in baseball.

Reports leaked that even Stroman was initially upset with not being sent to a contender, but clarified that he was voicing his opinion on how the situation was handled instead. The Mets currently sit fourth in the NL East at 50-55.
