New York City is home to nearly nine million people and is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, so you never know who you’re going to run into when you’re in The Big Apple.

The Edmonton Oilers arrived in New York earlier this week to kick off a four-game road trip that includes games against the Islanders, Rangers, New Jersey Devils and the Washington Capitals. The Oilers won the opening game on the trip, 2-1 over the Islanders, and followed that up with a 3-2 overtime win over the Devils on Thursday.

Following the victory, members of the Oilers hit the town to enjoy a nice post-victory dinner and ended up running into a very famous athlete.

Although it’s been nearly a week since Georges St-Pierre made his return to the octagon and came out victorious, GSP is still in the big city and ended up having dinner at the same restaurant as the Oilers on Thursday night.

The Oilers have had some luck over the past couple of months when it comes to the UFC as they got to take in UFC 215 in Edmonton and even got to meet some of the fighters after the event.

Fight night in e town! Glad to be back with all the boys @ufc
