Not many curling fans expected the American men’s curling team to go all the way in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, especially once they were matched up against the Canadians in the semi-finals, but once they eliminated the three-time defending Olympic champions it was anyone’s game.
The American men’s curling team went on to defeat Sweden in the championship to capture their first-ever gold medal at the Olympics, but the moment didn’t exactly go as they had dreamed.
It turns out that the men ended up receiving the women’s curling gold medals by mistake.
After they realized they had received the wrong medals the coaches quickly resolved the foul-up and the guys went home with the correct medals.
