The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 on Saturday afternoon and while it might seem like it was just another win over the lowly Sabres, it was actually pretty big victory for the Kings.

The last time the Kings beat the Sabres in Buffalo came back during the 2002-03 season when they won 4-1 behind two goals from Ziggy Palffy, so this was a pretty eventful win for the organization.

That wasn’t the only reason why it was a big win, though, as Eden, New York native Alex Iafallo had quite the turnout for his first game back home.

The Kings rookie played junior hockey for the Buffalo Regals 18U team, so you can bet his friends and family weren’t going to miss his first NHL game in Buffalo.

The 24-year-old was feeling right at home as he picked up an assist in his team’s victory and now has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 56 games.
