It might just be the preseason, but some players are already in regular season mode.

On Thursday, the Philadelphia Flyers will host the Boston Bruins and a few members of the Flyers are going to have some special edition sticks for the contest.

Carter Hart and Jakub Voracek will be joining other professional athletes in Philadelphia in a fight against pediatric cancer as the two players will use gold sticks featuring illustrations by childhood cancer patients in the Philadelphia area, which is part of the Fearless 43 initiative.

"The Philadelphia Union (Major League Soccer team) reached out, they do a kid's cancer awareness month," Hart told NHL.com deputy managing editor Adam Kimelman. "It's for a good cause and to raise awareness and raise money."

The sticks will be auctioned off throughout the night, with all proceeds going towards The Kisses For Kyle Foundation; a foundation dedicated to helping families fighting childhood cancer in the Philadelphia region.

The Flyers aren’t the only ones donating to the cause, as members of the Philadelphia Union, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Philadelphia Phillies have rocked cleats designed entirely by the patients.

It’s always great to see athletes and teams give back to the community whenever they can.
