Matt Stajan spent 16 years in the NHL and laced up the skates in 1,003 games while spending time with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Calgary Flames. While the 34-year-old is not playing in the NHL this season, it doesn’t mean he’s called it a playing career just yet.

The Mississauga, Ontario native is currently playing overseas with EHC Red Bull München of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) and is off to a hot start with four goals and six assists for 10 points in 15 games. Following his team’s recent home victory over Iserlohn Roosters this past weekend, Stajan’s son, Elliot, helped lead the way in the post-game victory celebration with the fans.

EHC Red Bull München has a custom of saluting the crowd while doing a victory lap and this time it was Stajan’s son who led the way.

The DEL rookie currently sits fifth on the team in points and is fitting in nicely so far.
