CC Sabathia made a name for himself right out of the gate during his rookie season in 2000. At the age of 20, Sabathia went 17-5 while striking out 171 batters and giving up 149 hits over 180.1 innings of work and he’s still bringing the heat 18 years later.

On Tuesday night, the 38-year-old made his fourth start of the season and 525th of his career and it was a memorable night for Sabathia. While the Yankees didn’t end up getting the victory, Sabathia made history becoming just the 17th pitcher and third left-handed pitcher in MLB history to record 3,000 career strikeouts during his career.

Considering Sabathia has been around for nearly two full decades, plenty of his past and present teammates and opponents showed him some love and congratulated him on his recent accomplishment.

Pretty awesome that Sabathia is still going strong and bringing the heat considering many fans and analysts thought his career was over years ago.
