The two biggest superstars on the Golden State Warriors are very familiar with the Toronto Raptors. Kevin Durant grew up cheering for the Raptors, while Steph Curry spent time growing up in Toronto when his father, Dell, played for the Raps.

Now, Curry will be trying to lead the Warriors to their third straight NBA title and fourth in the past five seasons and he’ll have to do it against the city that showed him so much love on his way up to the top.

A young Steph #Curry was hitting halfcourt shots in Toronto long before his #NBA days 👀😲

The three-time NBA champion spent a lot of time alongside his father on the Raptors’ court during the pre-game shootaround in hopes of one day following in his footsteps and was hitting halfcourt shots long before his college days. With the Warriors set to play the next two games in Toronto, and possibly more in the near future, you can bet there’s going to be a lot of nostalgia for Curry during the series, who practically grew up in NBA arenas

Curry didn’t just spend time on NBA courts during his time in Toronto, though, as he also played for the Queensway Christian College Saints boys’ basketball team in 2001 and 2002, and lived in the city for two years while his father played for the Raptors.

It’s no surprise that Curry lit up the court as a youngster, just like he does now in the NBA, and it was just the beginning of a successful basketball career.

Fast forward nearly two decades and now he’ll have a chance to win a title in the city he called home for a couple of years as a youngster.
