The Los Angeles Kings got their four-game Metropolitan road trip underway in New Jersey on Tuesday night and they got it started with a tough 5-1 loss.

The team is now off for the next two days before they play back-to-back games in New York, starting with the Rangers on Friday night and the Islanders on Saturday night, so they're spending their time off in New York City.

The Kings held their routine practice on Wednesday afternoon, only they switched things up a little bit. Instead of practicing indoors they decided to take advantage of their time in New York City and held their practice outdoors at Central Park.

Just your typical practice ☀️

The Kings' loss to the Devils on Tuesday night was their first loss since November 24 when they lost 3-2 in overtime against the Arizona Coyotes, so they spent the day staying loose to remind themselves that things are still going well despite a rough loss last night.

They're not the first team to practice outdoors at Central Park this year as the New York Rangers also held one of their practices at the outdoor rink at Central Park a couple of weeks ago.

The Kings and Rangers will play against each other for the first time this season on Friday night, while the Kings will have a chance to sweep the season series with the Islanders on Saturday night.
