With the postponement of the NHL’s regular season, many things were put on hold.

While it was a tough but necessary pill to swallow, many of the teams are trying to make the best of the time off.

The Pittsburgh Penguins were set to host a Pride Night for their scheduled game against the Carolina Hurricanes last night, but of course, with the NHL season on hold, they were unable to.

Postponement aside, the Penguins still wanted to celebrate members of their community.

So last night, even while cities were dark and streets were empty, the Penguins lit the PPG Paints Arena in rainbow colours, even though there wasn’t going to be a game played in the arena that night.

Awesome.

The Penguins’ team ambassador for Hockey is For Everyone is Matt Murray, who has auctioned off his equipment in the past to support LGBTQ initiatives.

What a great way  for the Penguins to show support for all members of their community despite the circumstances, especially in times when people might be feeling a little more alone than usual.
