The Winnipeg Jets put together their best season in franchise history, but they ended up falling one win short of a berth in the Stanley Cup final.

Winnipeg mayor Brian Bowman placed a friendly bet with Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman on the Western Conference final at the beginning of the series with the final result being the losing team’s mayor rocking the winning team’s gear. Well, that day came on Thursday as Mayor Bowman rocked Vegas Golden Knights threads at council.

Bowman included some strong words about the team and the fan base, saying he would always bet on them and thanked them always bringing the Winnipeg Whiteout downtown every single game. His actions and words and did not go unnoticed, as Mayor Goodman responded shortly after.

These friendly wagers have increased over the years and it’s always nice to see those who come out on the losing end of things stay true to their words.
