LeBron James is set to hit the free agent market this upcoming offseason and basketball fans in the United States have already started doing whatever they can to try to recruit the three-time NBA champion. However, it hasn’t just been basketball fans trying to recruit King James as Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster started a campaign to get LeBron to sign with the Steelers.

While LeBron has no intention of making the switch from basketball to football, another NBA player made his own pitch to an NFL player about the possibility of making the switch from the hardwood to the field.

After hearing the news that Fanatics owner Michael Rubin plans on bidding on the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia 76ers centre Embiid reached out to Panthers quarterback Cam Newton asking if he needed a wide receiver and Newton was all for having Embiid join the team.

It appears that both Newton and the Panthers’ social media team like the idea of having Embiid join the team as a wide receiver, however, Smith-Schuster had a pretty great reaction to the Twitter posts.

It’s all fun and games, though, as the two exchanged some friendly jabs in the form of gifs.

After all, it’s not like LeBron James or Joel Embiid would actually make the switch over to the NFL anyways.
