Chris Bosh entered the NBA as a teenager and it didn’t take him very long to get used to playing at the highest level.

By his third season in the league Bosh was named to the NBA All-Star team and that was just the beginning of an annual thing for the Dallas, Texas native, as he went on to make the NBA All-Star team every year going forward for the next 10 years. However, due to continuous blood clotting, Bosh had to call it an early career as he hasn’t played in a game since the 2015-16 season.

On Monday, the Miami Heat got the week started by announcing that they will retire Bosh’s No. 1 later this year when they host the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, March 26. Hours later, Bosh shared a special video message with his followers and Heat fans in regards to the recent news.

Bosh spent the final six seasons of his 13-year career with the Miami Heat and played a key role in the franchise’s back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013. During his time in Miami the 11-time All-Star averaged 18 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
