It took Connor McDavid four games in Toronto to finally score an NHL goal in his hometown and the way he ended up scoring made it worth the wait.

With the Edmonton Oilers already leading 5-3 past the midway point of the third period, McDavid broke into the Leafs’ zone all alone and absolutely undressed Morgan Rielly before potting his 24th goal of the season and first ever NHL goal in Toronto.

After the game, the Oilers captain was asked about his goal and the great fake that he pulled off in order to make it all happen and he wasn’t giving away any of his secrets.

Morgan Rielly was asked after the game what it’s like to play against McDavid and trying to defend him, but he didn’t exactly touch on the highlight reel goal.

McDavid finished the night with a goal and four points as the Oilers defeated the Maple Leafs, 6-4.
