A lot of people associate Kobe Bryant with Los Angeles since he played his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers, but Philadelphia is actually the place where it all began for the five-time NBA champion.

Bryant was born in Philadelphia on August 23, 1978, and he attended Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, a 20-minute drive from Philly. This past Sunday, Bryant showed how much his hometown means to him by the way he reacted to the Eagles winning their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.

Knowing how much the team and the city means to Bryant, Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills reached out to the 18-time NBA All-Star in hopes of getting him to attend the team’s victory parade on Thursday morning.

Eagles guard Brandon Brooks also chimed in to back up his teammate’s invitiation.

Mills’ invitation did not go unnoticed by Bryant as he ended up responding shortly after the original tweet was sent.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, Bryant won’t be able to make it on Thursday because he has some daddy duties to take care of while he works on his brand new studio, but it was nice of him to get back to Mills.

Bryant wasn’t the only Philly native that Mills reached out to as he also wanted to see if Kevin Hart will be in attendance.

Hart hasn’t responded publicly to Mills’ tweet, but we won’t be surprised if we see him at the parade on Thursday morning.

After all, this is the same man who tried to get up on the stage with the team as they were presented the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
