We’re just about four days away from July first, when a considerable amount of serious NHL talent will hit the market as free agents.
This year’s free agent class is headlined by stars like Artemi Panarin, Joe Pavelski, and Columbus Blue Jacket Matt Duchene.
Apparently, Duchene met with the Canadiens today, and is expected to meet with the Nashville Predators tomorrow.
Duchene meeting with the Predators isn’t overly surprising or huge news by any means, but it did get us thinking.
This could be a really good fit.
We’re not even talking about hockey right now. We’re talking about the fact that we really want to see Duchene play the Grand Ole Oprey.
When he’s not playing in the NHL, Duchene dabbles in country music, and he’s honestly fantastic.
We know she’s biased, but his daughter thinks so, too.
Apparently, being the country music lover he is, Duchene is already a huge Nashville guy. Judging from his Twitter, he’s also pretty tight with a lot of country music stars that presumably reside in Music City.
While we know Duchene has plenty of options that would suit his hockey career perfectly well, country music career wise?
He’d definitely be best rocking a cowboy hat and a guitar in Tennessee.
