The Washington Capitals have won their first ever Stanley Cup, but debatably more importantly, Alex Ovechkin has won his first Stanley Cup.
The Great 8 has long been eluded by hockey's most coveted trophy, with jokes of him and the Caps being chokers and not taking the game seriously enough running rampant. Finally, in a year where their expectations have been lower than most recent years, the Caps crusaded their way to a Stanley Cup Championship.
As a result, the ever-emotional Alex Ovechkin offered a ton of fantastic reaction, much of which was caught in these eight fantastic snaps.
Nobody loves winning more than Alex Ovechkin, and it was finally his time to win big. Even if you aren't a Washington Capitals fan, it's hard not to cheer for the missing-tooth smile.
