Evander Kane has only played 23 games in a San Jose Sharks uniform but it feels like it’s been much longer than that based on how quickly he’s become a fan favourite among Sharks fans.

The Sharks wrapped up a lengthy five-game road trip in New Jersey on Sunday and don’t return to the ice until Wednesday night when they host the Buffalo Sabres, so Kane spent Tuesday doing something awesome at a local middle school with some help from the Sharks Foundation and Vision to Learn.

Kane, alongside the team’s mascot, SJ Sharkie, spent the afternoon helping students at Columbia Middle School in Sunnyvale, California, try on new glasses and ended up handing out 80 pairs to the students.

The 27-year-old has been extremely active in the community ever since the Sharks acquired him from the Buffalo Sabres last season and it only looks like his roles in the community are going to grow in the upcoming years.
