The CFL is honouring the Humboldt Broncos all week long as teams across the league added Humboldt Strong decals to their helmets for their Week 3 matchups, but the Saskatchewan Roughriders went above and beyond to give the players and their families an incredible experience.

Saskatchewan dubbed the Week 3 matchup against the Montreal Alouettes as the Humboldt Strong game and both sides put in the extra effort to properly honour the Broncos players and the families affected by the tragic bus crash. As part of a special pre-game ceremony, the Broncos players joined the captains from each team for the coin flip, only the CFL switched things up and didn’t use a coin.

The Humboldt Broncos puck used for the coin flip was just one of the many small gestures shown by the CFL and the teams playing in the game as the Roughriders also gave their 13th Man statue a special makeover ahead of the game.

Roughriders receiver Naaman Roosevelt also showed up to work in a Humboldt Broncos jersey and brought some custom cleats with him.

Roosevelt wasn’t the only one rocking custom cleats in honour of the Broncos as Alouettes quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. added a special message to his cleats for the game.

It’s sure to be an emotional night from beginning to end.
