The NHL released its list of the 100 Greatest NHL Players and the players were honoured during THE NHL 100 presented by Geico at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Friday night. It wasn’t just retired players on the list, though. Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews, Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby and Jaromir Jagr all made the 100 Greatest NHL Players list and were in attendance with a majority of the other legends on the list on Friday.
However, you would think that after being a professional athlete for many years these guys would be used to meeting a bunch of new people on a daily basis, whether they’re famous people or regular fans, but apparently Alexander Ovechkin was starstruck around some of the other players on the list.
Here’s the Washington Capitals captain with Wayne Gretzky and Sergei Fedorov.
He also got a photo with just his former teammate Sergei Fedorov aka ‘Papa Feds’.
Ovechkin put his differences with the Pittsburgh Penguins aside for the night and snapped a photo with Mario Lemieux.
It must have gone really well, because it looks like Ovechkin and his family had a meal with The Great One later on.
Even the players get a little starstruck during All-Star weekend.
